Exhibition Warhol&Friends in Bologna
From 29 September 2018 to 24 February 2019 at Palazzo Albergati in Bologna, approximately 150 works are on display, to tell the story of Warhol and his life and work. But there’s more to it than that
bacouse perché full of works by the great artist but also by other exponents of Pop Art. We will find Basquiat, Untitled by Keith Haring, Dunciad by Julian Schnabel, Art Magazine Ads by Jeff Koons… Between stories of excess, transgression and worldliness, the protagonists of the lively artistic atmosphere of an always new New York. Hosted by Palazzo Albergati in via Saragozza and curated by Luca Beatrice.
It is the return to painting, lit by continuous references to cinema, photography, street art, music, performance, graffiti. It is the eighties to drink. A utopia of omnipotence. In a recent interview with Carlino, anticipating the themes of the exhibition, Beatrice wondered: “When does the dream end? On 22 February 1987 Warhol died at 58 years after a simple surgery, they died between AIDS and drugs Basquiat, Haring and Mapplethorpe, of which we will present among others the photo of him with Patti Smith, at a very young age. The curtain falls on that decade and an era closes “.
Between snapshots and the reproduction of Studio 54. After the magical atmosphere of Japan, at Palazzo Albergati opens another great exhibition that tells stories of excess, transgression and worldliness. The protagonists of the lively artistic atmosphere of an ever-new New York exhibited together along an exhibition path made up of over 150 works.
An exhibition that makes you smile, which really lets you enter the unique climate of the Big Apple of the golden years, even enter the legendary Studio 54, rebuilt at the end of the path. And for the 15 minutes of notoriety, the selfie area could not be missing: the Polaroid of the digital age. Do not miss the Exhibition Warhol&Friends in Bologna, a unique exposition to see the Pop Art artists.
