Fuorisalone mean the set of events distributed in different areas of Milan that take place at the International Furniture Fair, staged in the pavilions of Fiera Rho. Fuorisalone and Salone del Mobile are the most important event in the world for design addicted.

Fuorisalone is not a trade fair, has no central organization and is not managed by any institutional body. It arises spontaneously in the early 80s by the desire of companies active in the furniture and industrial design industry. Currently he sees an expansion in many related sectors, including automotive, technology, telecommunications, art, fashion and food.

The “Fuorisalone” expression is used to define the vast range of events animating the whole city of Milan during the Salone del Mobile exhibition’s week.
Driade, Cappellini and De Padova, three of the most famous enterprises in design domain, were the first to choose wide spacious areas as innovative locations for design showrooms. So they can be friendly considered as the fuorisalone’s fathers. But it is fundamental to tell how, from the early nineties, a lot of young talented designers move to these unexpected areas bringing with them creativity and genius, introducing new ideas and communication skills.
It is essential to remind and to underline that this phenomenon is completely independent from the Main Fair (Salone del Mobile): it is self-produced. In fact nobody has never institutionalized it, and it has never been established as part of an organization.
