The big event Luci d’Artista lights up every year the nights of Salerno!. From November to January, with light installations, some by local artists exclusively for Salerno, scattered through the main streets and in the most beautiful and attractive corners of the city center.

The initiative is sponsored entirely by the City of Salerno. Born from the successful collaboration with Turin, where the bright works of art, created by artists of international fame, have become an important tourist and shopping attraction.

Salerno and Turin, city of art and light, give life to an artistic twinning, a magic thread running through Italy arousing emotions and creating a magical atmosphere from the first week of November until 24 January.

Lights of Artist of Salerno offer works already acclaimed in Piedmont and new works commissioned directly by the City of Salerno for the city. It is artistic lights, hundreds of meters long that use sophisticated lighting technologies. The magical “Nights of light” of Salerno, enriched by a series of events with music, dance, theater, performances that complete the program of Christmas events… Make the city of Salerno even better for citizens and welcoming to visitors and represent a great opportunity to discover the beautiful monuments and artistic sights, the pleasure of shopping, the quality of the local crafts and in an atmosphere of festive serenity. Luci d’Artista Artist’s Lights 2016-2017 | Events Salerno, Italy!

ATTRACTIONS

WHEEL OVERVIEW. With the lighting of Luci d’Artista it has been installed as a Ferris wheel of over 50 meters in Sottopiazza della Concordia. This will allow visitors and residents to enjoy Salerno illuminated by the lights of an extraordinary height, every day from 10 to 24! The ticket price is 9 € for adults and 6 € for children up to 10 years. Holders of the Luci d’Artista Card can get the discount of 1 €! Soon more information about the possibility of having breakfast or dinner aboard the Ferris wheel in Salerno!

NEW INSTALLATIONS. The old town is dotted with giant figures, installations of great impact and elegance on the Corso Vittorio Emanuele. You can admire a waterfall of lights, lamps and illuminated globes. The Rotonda there is a genuine reconstruction of an environment from “One Thousand and One Nights”. News also in the Enchanted Garden of the Villa Comunale. Here they were installed lights dedicated to new fairy tales to the delight of little ones!

SAND NATIVITY. Also new this year at the new Maritime Station of Salerno, where from 8 December 2016 to 8 January 2017 for the occasion will be set up traditional and picturesque sand cribs!

The Christmas Markets are set to open on December 6 on the waterfront Trieste and in other parts of the city, open Monday through Thursday from 10 to 22. While Friday, Saturday and Sunday with closing at 24.
