The ancient Drepanon with its sickle-shaped juts out into the sea, is the main source of life for the fishing industry and for tourist-commercial port (once coral fishing activity). Walking through the old town you read the signs of the various cultural layers, the oldest neighborhood Casalicchio, to the Jewish Giudecca, to the medieval ruins of the Castello di Terra, the Castello di Mare or Colombaia. The beautiful Senatorial Palace and the Palazzo Riccio of St. Joachim. Interesting the churches Chiese del Purgatorio, which houses the Mysteries (twenty sculptural groups depicting the passion of Christ) and the Collegio. Not far from the historical center the Annunziata Sanctuary and the Pepoli Museum, which houses precious art treasures. To the south of the city, the salt form the unique environment from which begins the route of the  Salt Street.
